I have removed the short. I recieved a lot of great feedback, thank you all. I am currently submitting this piece to places I find fit - lets see what happens.

3 days of work - home made mini light-box with crank battery-less light - 8.5X11 sheets ripped into 4 - no registration - straight ahead animation with pen. Track recorded on 1980's tape recorder - one take.

Running into some problems that will have to be fixed on the future model if there is one. First the space is too limited for me to work in - I'm going to have to work small in order to fit everything. Secondly I'm not sure if there's a lighting issue - I'm a bit up in the air about it - I would love to be able to stick some lights on there and make it look nice however I don't find it entirely necessary - what I have been working with is alright. Also I need to figure out some form of registration. Finally if I choose to do a finished piece I have to get a real nice camera - because these consumer cameras are not giving me the depth of field that I need.

This is a super difficult process and I am running into several problems I wasn't ready for. It would be best to have a lot more space to work with - this will be a fix for the next model I suppose. I am still pending with the lighting - Im not sure what to do with it yet - things seem to be working as is but it could be better/worse with better lighting. I know I have to get a better camera for shooting anything better than a test - with these digital take home cameras you dont get a proper depth of field - and theres no substitute that I have discovered for a nice lens.

So heres a shot test - this is through a cell phone through a camera so its not what it could be but it looks pretty cool. I am still trying to get some lights for this and to fix a few more things that need to be worked out.

Multi-Planeica - Insaneica. This thing is starting to form in my laboratory. I gotta build it slowly cause its becoming expensive - gotta get a ton of lights for it and find a way to mount a camera in a good spot. I have been building it so that I can easily disassemble it because it takes up a lot of space. This poses the problem of getting things to register perfectly - I have been having trouble figuring out how to keep everything lined up - a single knock would throw things around probably - Also I grabbed some wheels from my moldy basement to put on the bottom - they are old rusty and barely work - its better than having it flat on the floor though. Gotta get some more things for this beast.

Hmm pirates and mammoths

Here is some cel things I've been working on - the top being a pirate battle (4 layers) on the sloppy seas - done with ink and acrylics - the second being a wooly mammoth skull (6 piece) I've been thinking about - again ink and acrylics.

As for the film it is rendering the first minute out as we speak...I guess - should have another minute to 3 this week I should think.

It is likely that I will pay thousands of dollars for a crappy sandwich and a prescription for some Motrin. I could have gotten the same advice and a better sandwich at my mothers house.

Captain Swivel Neck!

Heres a shot test for my new film - Captain Swivel Neck and Skipper Jones Aboard The S.S. Tartar Sauce. Its an educational film about some water logged explorers. I started it in late July and am now getting around to working on it again. Expect to see several parts to this film - I've got a lot to work with.

This was done on cels - scanned in and colored - with a better quality film the cels create a nice natural shadow- the background is colored pencil and crayon on cardboard.

The film as a whole is half animation and half live action - you can expect the unexpected.

Here it is as I promised - the records of a python from the wilds of Borneo - of course we know her as "The Monty Python."

The amount of records we have of this extraordinary beast out numbers the tally of suspected attacks. It is possible that she is still at large.

I have so many drawings from then. Of course half of them were stolen by the teachers. If only I had the folder from that algebra class - mmmmkay?

I think I will upload things weekly - get into a habit. Of course I'm not sure who really looks at this - check back on Sundays.

Heres a drawing I did in high school - perhaps the only one im proud of. It may have been the defining moment that said, "I want to draw the rest of my life."

I am finally getting settled into my new apartment - I have been working on some new things of my own and freelancing, slowly getting back into constant daily work. I have been reformulating "Liverspots and Astronots" because now that time has passed I realized it just isnt funny - there is little charming about it anymore - so I have been brewing some new designs, characters, and situations - its slowly coming but I realize now it is going to have a very long way to go.

Finally I must admire the visuals of the new cartoon The Marvelous Misadventures of FlapJack, they are some what orgasmic, though the story line is no match.

Im still loving CHOWDER - if you can check out "Shnitzel Makes a Deposit" I havnt laughed so hard in a long time - my cheeks hurt.

WOAH too overwhelming. It was absolutely crazy last night. The most animation I have ever seen in one sitting. It made my stomach churn and gave me a headache as soon as I began to walk away as if I was going through withdrawls. The films were really great - even the unfinished ones worked and were entertaining. A few that stood out to me were Params - with those awesome backgrounds, watercolored, absolutely beautiful. Frank Tingue's had a really great opening with page turns and voice overs. It worked very well. Kat's Sea Witch was amazing - enough said, same with Louis's. Shivers down the spine. It was a really really great night! I hope to see more films from everybody in the future. Also the animation department took over DALLAS BBQ afterwards - at least 30 of us hootin, hollerin, and enjoying BBQ.
